A Week in the Real World (Part 1)
- by Various Artists
- Jul 1992
In August 1991 Real World Studios opened its doors to over 75 artists from 20 countries for a unique recording project in association with WOMAD. Music in performance was the keynote of the Week, with many of the artists recording what were essentially live albums.
This album is the first of two volumes which feature music from Korea to Spain, Colombia to Madagascar, and the USA. Some tracks are by established artists and some are collaborations - fascinating meetings of diverse cultures.
Various producers are at work here, including Rupert Hine, Pól Brennan (ex-Clannad) and re-mix crew The Grid. The music was created in many different situations, from live concert recordings to hi-tech studio mixes.
