The Blind Boys of Alabama have already picked up 3 winning Grammys for past releases on Real World Records. This year, in spite of the fact that they weren't eligible themselves, they have ended up on two winning albums!
The legendary veteran singers are featured on 'Glory Train' by Randy Travis (Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album) and 'Catch That Train!' by Dan Zane and Friends (Best Musical Album For Children). The Blind Boys winning streak is obviously catching!
Iarla continues to pursue his own adventurous and ground breaking musical journey. He is currently working with the respected experimental Crash Ensemble on a work that has been specially created for the sean-nos singer.

Crash Ensemble: Strange Folk, 10 February, 8pm at Samuel Beckett Theatre and on 28 March at the Merkin Hall NYC.
In an eagerly anticipated highlight of 2007, Crash Ensemble, Irelands leading contemporary classical music group, will premier a new work by Donnacha Dennehy for Sean Nós singer Iarla Ó Lionáird as part of a unique celebration of newly composed music inspired by the sounds and ideas of ethnic music.
Called STRANGE FOLK, this one-night concert at the Samuel Beckett Theatre, will not only be the occasion for the premier of Dennehys large new piece for Iarla and the group in advance of its New York debut, but for the first time in the ensembles ten-year history, they will be presenting work by the important composers Osvaldo Golijov, and Franghiz Ali-Zadeh, alongside an Indonesian influenced piece by Bang On A Cans Evan Ziporyn.
Without Zero is gathering critical acclaim from every quarter! The new album has been rated 'Top of the World' in the review section of Songlines magazine (March/April 2007 edition). The track The Blessing will appear on the cover mount CD along with the magazine when it hits the streets on February 16.
Manga from Shaanti will be presenting a Joi special on his next Global Asian Sounds show - Sat 11 Feb. Airing on Galaxy FM Manchester between 2 and 4am, the show will feature selected tracks and remixes from the new album 'Without Zero'.
