The Blind Boys have just confirmed their performance at "Gospel Angels," a live, nationally televised benefit concert to raise money for the people torn from their homes by Hurricane Katrina. The benefit will be held on Sept. 22 at Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park and will be broadcast on the Gospel Music Channel, the "i" network (formerly the Pax Network), and XM

Tibetan singer Yungchen Lhamo will perform at the Royal Albert Hall on October 16 to promote the UN Millennium Development Goals. Yungchen will join a diverse range of artists including Hugh Maskela, Steve Harley, The Chieftans, The Dhol Foundation and Yothu Yindi will come together under the banner of 'Music To Unite Nations'

Iarla O Lionaird finished a week of rehearsing his new band with a live performance on the afternoon of August 8 at Real World Studios. This was the first outing for the band which features Graham Henderson (keyboards/accordion), Steve Jones (guitars) and Liam Bradley (drums/percussion). In front a small audience of guests from the media and his record company this was a wonderful informal lauch for this new album 'Invisible Fields' which will be released on August 22. Extracts from the afternoon concert which took place at Real World Studios Big Room will appear on Iarla's website shortly.
