Clara Serra López releases new single ‘Sola’

Clara Serra López is a Spanish born vocalist, composer, songwriter and keys player based in London with Catalan and Cuban heritage.

‘Sola’ is the second song to be released from Clara Serra López’s forthcoming EP, Lengua Materna (Part II).Sola, meaning Alone,’ was written during the infamous lockdown,” says Clara. “Since then, it has been one of those songs that has held me through different chapters of hardship. The song later became a companion during a period marked by a vocal injury, helping me process a time when I had to close myself off just as the world was re-awakening.”

At its core, the song is both an act of self-reflection and a call for closeness and community. While it acknowledges the strength I carry within myself to endure difficult times, it also admits a deep need for connection.”

“The chorus then almost contradicts this vulnerability with a more prideful declaration: ‘I am my own solution,’ continues Clara. “In many ways, this line became a form of self-soothing, a reminder of inner resilience spoken to myself in moments of solitude.”

“The composition of Sola has taken many shapes, and I hope it will continue to live many more lives. For Lengua Materna (Part II), alongside producer Jake Long, we placed the song within a sonic landscape that juxtaposes intimate vocals against layers of synths, at times mirroring the intensity and emotional weight of isolation.

Lengua Materna (Part II), is a four track EP, set for release on 10 April, 2026, via Real World X. Songs that explore the isolation and mistrust produced by today’s social systems whilst seeking to rebuild connection within our communities to make the struggle survivable, and shared. Lead track ‘Mari Paz’ and follow-up ‘Sola’ are both available now.
