Loney dear UK live dates announced

Loney dear has been announced as the main support for the forthcoming UK live shows by Norwegian songwriter and vocalist Ane Brun.

The three UK shows of Brun’s extensive ‘After The Great Storm Tour 2021’ are this October in Glasgow, Manchester and London and follow the recent release of her first studio album of original material in five years.

It will also be the first time Loney dear has performed live in the UK since 2018 and will give audiences a chance to hear songs from his most recent album ‘A Lantern and a Bell’, released earlier this year.

Tickets are on sale now.

The shows should prove an interesting pairing for Peter Gabriel fans. Ane Brun was a featured vocalist on the ‘New Blood’ album and toured extensively with Gabriel for the accompanying New Blood shows, whilst Gabriel is a long-time fan and supporter of Loney dear’s songwriting and is credited on the new album ‘A Lantern and a Bell’ with the role of ‘sounding board.’

    Released 26 March 2021

Sea birds, distorted noise, and then the line “Mighty ships hung over ground” — the marine theme not only begins but makes its mark throughout the entirety of A Lantern and a Bell. The soundscape, with Emil Svanängen's unmistakable falsetto at the very front of the mix, is extremely stripped down. A compliant piano, a discreet double bass, occasional chords, and diffused water sounds, at dark low frequencies, pulsating from unknown depths.
