Liner notes

World renowned Irish American supergroup The Gloaming return with their highly anticipated third studio album. Produced by Thomas Bartlett (Sufjan Stevens, St. Vincent), the album was recorded in New York City at Reservoir Studios. Like its predecessors, it richly reimagines the vernacular of traditional Irish music through a modern prism via elements of post-rock, jazz, contemporary classical, chamber and minimalism.

Reviews

  • The Gloaming have found their groove: that intersection where unapologetically traditional music-making sits so comfortably alongside the most visionary, forward-facing musical exploration. ★★★★ The Irish Times (Ireland)
  • It is traditional Irish music certainly, but there are classical elements and the type of minimalism that one might associate with Steve Reich, or even the Erik Satie of The Gymnopédies, especially in the sometimes hardly there at all yet absolutely central to the whole endeavour piano of Thomas Bartlett. ★★★★ Hotpress (Ireland)
  • Exceptional ★★★★★ Written In Music (Netherlands)
